Sun – The Source of All Energy
Our Ecosystem
Since ancient times, humans have worshipped the
Sun as a divine force — the giver of life and
energy. Even today, many continue the practice of saluting the
Sun in gratitude. We, too, are among them.
To maintain good human health, we must eat food that nourishes
us — and the quality of that food depends directly on the
health of the soil it grows in. Healthy soil is
full of life — rich in
microbial activity, organic matter, and organic
carbon
.
At Sun Green Farms, we take great care to protect this living
soil. We try to avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as
excessive heat can reduce microbial activity and deplete organic
matter. Yet, we deeply value sunlight, for it is the
primary source of energy for all living organisms
in the universe.
Through photosynthesis, trees and plants absorb
the Sun’s energy and store it as carbon in their branches,
stems, fruits, and leaves. This stored carbon forms the
carbohydrates that sustain all life — from tiny
soil organisms to animals and human beings.
Before a plant or tree sheds its dry leaves, it carefully
reabsorbs valuable nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus
back into its roots and stems. This natural process is what
causes leaves to change color — from green to yellow, orange,
and brown — before they eventually fall. When the leaves, stems,
or even entire trees fall to the ground, their carbon content
returns to the soil as they decompose, enriching it once again.
This soil carbon, present mainly as
soil organic matter, serves as both a nutrient
source for plants and food for countless microorganisms. It
binds soil particles together, improving soil structure,
preventing erosion, and enhancing water retention. Soils rich in
carbon can absorb more rainfall and retain moisture longer — a
crucial advantage during dry periods. The microorganisms that
feed on this carbon drive essential processes such as
nutrient cycling and
organic matter decomposition, keeping the soil
fertile and alive.
At Sun Green Farms, we work continuously to build this soil life
by enriching it with carbon from
dry leaves, mulch, and natural animal waste
such as cow dung, goat droppings, and poultry manure. These
natural inputs nourish the land, making it more resilient and
self-sustaining.
We truly understand how vital the Sun is — for
our farm, our lives, and the generations to come. Every day, we
offer our silent prayers to the Sun — not always in traditional
rituals, but from our hearts — with deep
gratitude for the light, warmth, and life it
gives us.
